Make a website about chocolate. Get a chocolate bar.

Build a website about chocolate, or anything chocolate-related. Ship it, and we'll post you a Tony's Chocolonely bar with a custom label.

A Tony's Chocolonely bar with a Hack Club label

How it works

  1. Build

Make a website about chocolate. A recipe site, a review blog, a chocolate shop, a game where you catch falling truffles. If it's chocolate-related, it counts.

  2. Track your time

Log your time with Hackatime while you build. A project (3 hours) gets a label with a collage of everyone else's projects. You'll need your public Hackatime link when you submit.

  3. Ship it

Your code has to be in a public GitHub repo. Put your site online (GitHub Pages works great) and fill in the submission form.

FAQ

Do I need to know how to code?

No. A simple HTML and CSS page is a great first project. Start small and add to it.

What counts as chocolate-related?

Pretty much anything: recipes, reviews, the history of cocoa, a fake chocolate factory, a chocolate-themed game. If you're not sure, ask in the Slack.

Where do I host my site?

Anywhere with a public link, as long as your code is in a public GitHub repo. GitHub Pages is free and works straight from your repo.

What's on the label?

Every approved project (3 hours) gets a Choco label with a collage of everyone else's projects!
